Get Back to Doing What You Love at Tier 1 Performance and Chiro

  • A chiropractic adjustment is a chiropractor applying manipulation to the vertebrae or joints that have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally. At Tier 1 we call this segmental dysfunction which implies one segment of the spine or other joints are not moving smoothly with other joints. The adjustment is a very powerful technique in mitigating pain patterns, decreasing inflammation in the joint, and increasing range of motion in the joint.

  • Dry Needling (DN) involves inserting a tiny monofilament needle into symptomatic tissue with the intent to reduce pain, increase circulation and improve function of the neuromusculoskeletal system. DN is not traditional Chinese Acupuncture, but instead is based on neurology, physiology and western medical principles. DN is a valuable treatment for musculoskeletal pain, trigger points, and inflammation.

  • Cupping is an alternative therapy that uses suction cups to stimulate your skin and muscles. The suction promotes increased blood circulation to the muscles, decreased muscle tension, cell repair, and aids to regeneration of muscle tissue.

  • Popularly referred to as “muscle scraping.” The use of a stainless steel instrument which identifies areas of muscle adhesions that are usually associated with some form of trauma to the soft tissue. The instrument is used like a comb to lightly break down the “knots” or adhesions in the muscle. This technique promotes increased blood flow, decreased muscle tension, and increased range of motion in the surrounding joint.

  • Dynamic Release is a soft tissue method that focuses on relieving tissue tension via the removal of adhesions which can develop in tissues as a result of overload due to repetitive use. Dynamic release promotes restored free and unimpeded motion of all soft tissues, release entrapped nerves, vasculature and lymphatics, and to re-establish optimal texture, resilience and function of soft tissues.

  • Flexion Distraction is a gentle, safe, controlled form of traction specifically designed for spinal pain relief. Using a special table flexion distraction restores motion to the spinal joints while decreasing intradiscal pressure which may widen the spinal canal by up to 28%.

  • Medical rehabilitation which differs from functional rehab in that it aims to decrease pain, improve, restore and maintain functional ability and quality of life of those with injuries, physical impairments, or disabilities. This service is warranted for those with recent acute injuries or chronic injuries that cause pain and dysfunction in the muscles and the bodies movement patterns.

  • Functional Rehab is an extension of traditional Physical therapy which aims to return an athlete to highly complex movement patterns such as sports, crossfit, and training activities. This service is warranted for those that are proactively trying to reduce chances of injury in their daily life or on the field of play. Performance rehab includes fundamental movement patterns while increasing flexibility, strength, balance, proprioception, agility, and coordination.

  • Performance Strength and conditioning utilizes general strength and lifting concepts while also challenging the athlete with complex movements and exercises that encourage movements based on their sport or activity. This service is offered to those that have no existing injury and are looking to get that extra 10% to be at the Tier 1 of their game/activity or to decrease chances of potential injury in the future.
